The weather is getting colder, but there's plenty to see and do in November in St. Louis. You can attend our annual film festival, take the kids to the circus or to see members of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics team. And, once the holiday spirit starts to kick in, the Botanical Garden is ready to give you a jump on your holiday decorating. Here are the top picks for things to do this November in St. Louis.

Ringling Bros. Circus

The "Greatest Show on Earth" is coming back to St. Louis. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey invite you to Bellobration, an entertaining production that combines traditional circus tricks with new high flying stunts. Highlights of the show include harrowing tricks on a Wheel of Steel and performances on the high wire and trapeze. Ticket prices are $11 to $75 and are available through ticketmaster.

St. Louis International Film Festival

If you've seen one too many Hollywood blockbusters, you're ready for the 17th Annual St. Louis International Film Festival. Dozens of independent films are shown at the Tivoli Theatre, Plaza Frontenac and several other venues. Many of the filmmakers participate in discussions after the screenings. It doesn't matter if you're in the mood for a comedy, drama or documentary, the St. Louis International Film Festival has something for everyone.

Guitar Festival

The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra is hosting a different kind of musical event. The Symphony is bringing together some of the area's best musicians for a Guitar Festival at the Pageant. The performance will feature music from Frank Zappa and Glenn Branca's symphony for 100 electric guitars. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $30 for reserved balcony seating.

Gymnastics Superstars From the 2008 Olympics

Millions of us watched America's best gymnasts compete this summer at the Beijing Olympics. Now is your chance to see them perform in person. The 2008 Tour of Gymnastics Superstars brings Olympic champions Nastia Liukin, Shawn Johnson and others to St. Louis for a one of a kind event. The gymnasts will show off their skills to live music from Disney recording artists Jordan Pruitt and KSM. Tickets for the show are $29.50 - $79, and are available through ticketmaster.

Our Lady of the Snows Way of Lights

Get into the Christmas spirit with a visit to the Way of Lights in Belleville. Drive through more than a million holiday lights spread out over a mile and a half. There's also a laser light show, petting zoo and a display filled with decorated Christmas trees. The Way of Lights is open daily from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Holiday Flower and Train Show at the Botanical Garden

It's all aboard for some holiday fun at the Missouri Botanical Garden. The Garden is kicking off its holiday season with its "Gardenland Express" annual flower and train show. The show features eight model trains that wind their way though a miniture landscape filled with winter scenes and surrounded by poinsettias and other flowering plants. The display is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $3 plus the price of Garden admission.

Great River Road Run

The Great River Road Run is one way to burn off some of those Thanksgiving calories. You can choose a two mile or ten mile course. Each takes you along one of the most scenic roads in the St. Louis area. Registration is $25 in advance or $35 the day of the race.
