Innsbrook Resort in Warren County is offering a New Year's Eve getaway that includes a one-night stay complete with dinner, a chocolate buffet, champagne toast and fireworks at midnight over Lake Aspen. The cost is $250 a couple.

23. Skating Party at Steinberg Rink

Steinberg Skating Rink in Forest Park is hosting a New Year's Eve party for kids and adults. It runs until 12:30 a.m., and includes skating and skate rental, an appetizer buffet, hot chocolate and soda for the kids, and beer and wine for the adults. Skate admission is $6 and skate rental is $5 for everyone. Buffet tickets are $20 for 21 and older, and $15 for those younger than 21. The buffet will be served from 7 p.m to 11 p.m. No reservations are required. Just show up ready to have fun.

Ring in the New Year on the slopes at Hidden Valley Ski Resort near Eureka. There's night skiing until 3 a.m., and fireworks at midnight.

25. St. Peters Lock-in

Here's an event for the kids, so parents can go out and enjoy the evening! The St. Peters Rec-Plex is hosting a chaperoned lock-in for children ages 8 to 13. It's from 7 p.m. on New Year's Eve until 7 a.m. on New Year's Day. Kids can ice skate, swim, play basketball and more. Kids can also bring pillows and sleeping bags if they want to sleep at some point. The cost is $50 for St. Peters residents and $60 for the general public.
