The holidays are over and the cold weather has settled in, but there is still plenty to do in St. Louis in January. Here are some of the best ways to beat the winter blahs this month.
Watching the Eagles
Hundreds of bald eagles spend their winter along the banks of the Mississippi River in Alton and Grafton, and January is a great time to go eagle watching. The Alton Visitors Center has events all month long starting with Eagle Meet and Greets every Saturday in January. At the Meet and Greets, the World Bird Sanctuary brings one of its bald eagles so you can get up close and personal. Then, take one of the guided tours or drive yourself along the Great River Road for some prime eagle spotting.
