Register to Buy Tickets to the 2009 All-Star Game in St. Louis (at Face Value)

By , About.com Guide

Getting tickets to the 2009 All-Star Game will be a bit like winning the lottery. Fans who want to buy general admission tickets must register online for a random drawing. Fans chosen during the random drawing will be given the chance to buy tickets for the 2009 All-Star Game, the Home Run Derby and other events during All-Star Week in St. Louis.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 5 Minutes

Here's How:

  1. Register for the opportunity to buy tickets at mlb.com. The registration form asks for basic personal information like name, birthday and email address and takes a couple of minutes to fill out. You must register between April 23 and May 22, 2009. Only one entry per person is allowed and everyone who registers must be 18 or older.
  2. Cross your fingers. Wait. Pray.
  3. The random drawing will be held the week of May 25, and everyone selected will be notified by May 29, via email address. If you are one of the lucky ones selected, this means you have the chance to buy two All-Star Week Ticket Strips. You can not buy tickets to the All-Star Game alone through this online system. You must buy a Ticket Strip which includes a ticket to the All-Star Game, the Home Run Derby, All-Star Sunday (Futures Game and Legends & Celebrity Game) and All-Star FanFest. Fans not chosen in the random drawing can buy separate tickets to All-Star Sunday and All-Star FanFest.
  4. Winners of the random drawing will be able to buy their tickets on June 4-5, 2009. There will be an exact time and instructions on your email notification. Anyone who doesn't follow the instructions will lose the chance to buy tickets.
  5. Open your wallet. Tickets to the All-Star Game cost between $100 and $360. That's a lot of cash, but it's about 50 percent less than tickets to last year's game in New York. Tickets to All-Star Sunday, which includes the Futures Game, Legends & Celebrity Game and FanFest are $75.
