The All-Star Game is back in St. Louis in 2009 and baseball fans from around the world will be making their way to the Gateway City for the midsummer classic. Some fans will have the chance to buy tickets to the All-Star Game. Others are planning on volunteering at All-Star events, but one of the easiest ways to be a part of the action is at the 2009 All-Star FanFest.
What is FanFest?
All-Star FanFest is one of the top
events during 2009 All-Star Week in St. Louis. It's the largest baseball fan event in the world featuring interactive exhibits and attractions for baseball enthusiasts of all ages. Fans can try to hit against some of MLB's best pitchers at the video batting cages, make their own personalized baseball cards, attend free autograph sessions with baseball's biggest stars and more.
Step Up to the Plate
FanFest is your chance to put your baseball skills to the test. The video batting cages let you hit against some of the best pitchers in the game, or pitch to life-size video images of your favorite players in the FanFest bullpen. You can also run the bases, record your own play-by-play and try out the latest baseball video and computer games.
A Bit of Cooperstown
Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Bob Gibson. Their names are forever part of baseball history. Anyone interested in that history will want to check out the traveling exhibit of artifacts from the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. There's also a display of the greatest St. Louis baseball players of all time and a tribute to the men of the Negro Leagues.
Autographs and Souvenirs
FanFest is your best chance to meet baseball legends and Hall of Famers. There will be free autograph sessions throughout the five day event. There's also a Collector's Showcase where you can buy, sell or trade top baseball memorabilia. And don't miss the chance to make your own baseball card or see the world's largest baseball signed by Hank Aaron, Ted Williams and more.
