Where to Watch a Movie or Catch a Show in St. Louis for Free

There is so much to do in St. Louis in the summer and much of it is free. You can catch a movie or check out some great live theater without spending any money. Here's information on free movies and live theater in St. Louis in summer 2013. St. Louis Shakespeare Festival

See a free performance of Twelfth Night outdoors in Forest Park. No tickets are required, just show up with your blanket or lawn chair. The performances are every night at 8 p.m., except Tuesdays.
May 24 - June 16

Wehrenberg Theatres Family Summer Series

Kid friendly movies are shown on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m., at nine local Weherenberg Theatres.
June 5 - August 15

Movies in the Park - St. Peters

Free movies are shown one night a month at City Centre Park in St. Peters. Movies this year are: Wreck-It Ralph and The Adventures of Tin Tin.
May 31 & June 28

Riverside Shakespeare

The Riverside Theatre Company performs Romeo and Juliet free at Frontier Park in St. Charles. The play starts at 8 p.m on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 5 p.m. on Sundays.
June 21 - 30

The Muny

Nearly 1500 free seats are available for every Muny performance in Forest Park. They are available on a first come, first served basis. The free seat gates open at 7 p.m. Shows start at 8:15 p.m.
June 17-August 11

Art Museum Outdoor Film Series

Take in a free outdoor movie at Art Hill in Forest Park. The St. Louis Art Museum's Outdoor Film Series is held Fridays in July. The movies begin at 9 p.m. The Art Museum's main level and restrooms will be open until 11 p.m.
