There are many popular events at Soulard Mardi Gras. The Grand Parade, Barkus Pet Parade, Taste of Soulard and Family Winter Carnival to name just a few. And each year, the festivities get even bigger. Here are details on the newer events at Soulard Mardi Gras.
Champions Dinner
The Champions Dinner is your chance to enjoy a five-course meal prepared by one of the city's top chefs. This year's event takes place at St. Louis City Hall. The Champions Dinner is Thursday, February 2, 2012. The evening begins with cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m.
Run For Your Beads 5K
Put on your running shoes for a race through the streets of Soulard. The Run For Your Beads 5K begins and ends at Lynch and 12th streets near the Anheuser-Busch Brewery. As you would expect, this is no ordinary race. There will be prizes for best costumes and a complementary glass of beer as you cross the finish line. Runners will also have access to a warming tent before and after the race.
The race is Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 9 a.m. The cost is $25 for advanced registration or $30 the day of the race. A portion of the money raised goes to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
