Earth Day Festival

The annual festival in Forest Park is the largest Earth Day celebration in the area. There's a full day of local music, live performances, workshops and eco-art activities for the kids. Admission to the festival is free.

Party for the Planet

Visitors can celebrate Earth Day at the St. Louis Zoo with a Party for the Planet. There will be keeper chats about various animals including monkeys, tigers and elephants. Visitors can compete in a Recycle Race and learn about green transportation from train conductors. There's also live music from the Bob Case Band. Admission to the St. Louis Zoo is free.

Pedal for the Planet

What better way to celebrate Earth Day than with a bike ride through beautiful Forest Park. The Missouri History Museum is hosting the Pedal for the Planet. Riders will meet at the museum's front lawn, then enjoy a six mile ride exploring some of the natural ecosystems and other sites in Forest Park. The event is free.

Buggin' Out for Earth Day

The Butterfly House in Faust Park is offering a kid-friendly celebration called Buggin' Out for Earth Day. Children can make decorations from old magazines, turn juice boxes into boats and make decorative medallions from old coffee grounds. Admission to the Butterfly House is is $6 for adults and $4 for children.

Botanical Garden Celebration

The Missouri Botanical Garden is celebrating Earth Day with special exhibits and green events at the Ridgway Visitor Center. Various groups including the Endangered Wolf Center, St. Louis Audubon Society, World Bird Sanctuary and others will be on hand to share information about conservation and protecting the planet. Admission to the Botanical Garden is $8 for adults and $4 for residents in St. Louis City and County. City and County residents get in free on Saturdays before noon.
