Celebrate Christmas at Winter Wonderland in Tilles Park

Every year during the holidays, thousands of visitors make the drive to Tilles Park in St. Louis County to enjoy a Winter Wonderland. The park is filled with more than a million twinkling lights and various holiday scenes throughout the Christmas season. In fact, Winter Wonderland has been a local tradition for more than two decades and is one of the most popular Christmas light displays in the area.

Dates and Times:

Winter Wonderland opens each year the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and closes in early January. This year, Winter Wonderland opens on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, and closes on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. The display is open daily from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., but Saturdays are for carriage rides only. Winter Wonderland is closed on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Admission Fees:

The cost to drive through the display is: $10 for family cars, $40 for commercial vans and $90 for tour buses. No reservations are needed to drive through the display. Workers will collect your fee as you exit the park.

Carriage Rides:

Most people drive through Winter Wonderland, but if you want to make your visit extra special try a horse-drawn carriage ride. The carriage rides are available every day, but Saturdays are reserved for carriage rides only. Advanced reservations are required and the cost varies depending on the size of the carriage and the number of people in your group. A small private carriage for up to six people is $65 to $82. A large private carriage for up to ten people is $110. A large group carriage for up to 24 people costs $12 per person. Tickets are available online at MetroTix.

Getting There:

Winter Wonderland is centrally located in Tilles Park in West St. Louis County. The easiest way for most visitors to get to the park is to take I-64/Highway 40 to the McKnight Road exit. Go south and the park will be at the intersection of McKnight and Litzsinger Roads. All vehicles must enter Winter Wonderland from McKnight Road and exit via Litzsinger Road.
