Eagle Watching at the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge

By January 14, 2014

Follow me on:

The bald eagles are back in the St. Louis area, returning to their winter home along the banks of the Mississippi River. Everyone has a great chance to see some of the majestic birds this weekend at Eagle Days 2014 at the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge. Spotting scopes will be set up along the bridge for good viewing. The World Bird Sanctuary will also be on hand giving eagle talks and demonstrations. Everyone is urged to dress for the weather, but there will be a warming tent with activities for kids as well.

Eagle Days 2014 is Saturday, January 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday January 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public at the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge located near Riverview Drive just south of I-270.

Eagle Days is just one of many events going on in St. Louis this weekend. Families can also enjoy some outdoor fun at the Loop Ice Carnival. While baseball fans will be heading downtown for the Cardinals Winter Warm-Up.
