With the weather getting colder, you may want to keep warm with a fire in the fireplace. St. Louis residents can get free firewood to help reduce heating costs this winter. The City of St. Louis Parks Department will have free firewood available most weekdays after 3 p.m., at the Lower Muny Parking Lot in Forest Park.
The wood comes from the removal of dead or damaged trees around the city. It is offered on a first come, first served basis. It will be available from November 14, 2012 until the first week of March 2013. For more information, call the St. Louis Forestry Division at (314) 613-7200.
