If your Christmas tree is brown and brittle, it may be time to say goodbye. St. Louis has three locations where residents can recycle their once beautiful, but now battered Christmas trees. You can drop trees off in Forest Park at the Lower Muny parking lot, in O'Fallon Park at West Florissant and Holly and in Carondelet Park at Holly Hills and Grand. Trees can be recycled at any of these locations until January 15, 2010. The trees will be ground into mulch. In the spring, the city will offer the mulch free to residents to use in their gardens. You can also leave trees in alleys for bulk pickup, but don't put them in dumpsters.
