This weekend would be a good time to see a movie. Local Wehrenberg Theatres are holding their annual Cans Film Festival on Saturday, December 5. Just bring 5 cans of food to any Wehrenberg Theatre and you can see a movie for free before 5 p.m. If you bring 15 cans, you'll also get a second pass to see a free movie on another day. All of the food collected goes to the Salvation Army and its food pantries.

The FREE PASSES for another day are a joke, the passes cant be used at anytime like one would be led to believe. In my town of Bloomington Illinois the wehrenberg theatre ran the same promo here a couple of months ago and i brought in the 15 cans needed for the “FREE PASS” i found out later that most of the movies they show DONT accept these passes, the few that do are what i would consider the bottom of the barrel,also-ran movies that i would’nt waste gas money to go see even for free.Dont think i’m all about the freebies,i know it was the right thing to do to try to help out the less fortunate,BUT if i was running a promo i would be ALOT more honest on the particulars of these so-called “PASSES”.It’s not like they’re going to lose ANY money by allowing the PASS-holder to see the movie they want, when they want, they plan to RAPE you at the concession stands anyways. No wonder people dont go to movies like they used too. So,thanks alot for your costumer & civi-mindedness,i wont be seeing you anytime soon.
