Here's some great news for residents and workers in downtown St. Louis. Shopping for groceries just got a whole lot easier with the opening of the new Schnucks Market, Culinaria, at the corner of 9th and Olive Streets. It's the first full-service grocery store to open downtown in more than two decades.

My wife and I checked it out on Sunday afternoon and were both very impressed. The store is smaller than suburban Schnucks stores, but it has some really great features. There's a Kaldi's coffee stand, wine bar, customer seating area and full-service pharmacy. The store also offers free customer parking at the Ninth Street Garage for up to one hour during weekdays and two hours on nights and weekends. And there's a special cooler at the store so downtown workers can shop on their lunch breaks, then pick up purchases on the way home from work. Culinaria is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
