Security For the 2009 MLB All-Star Game

Wednesday July 8, 2009

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced security plans for All-Star Sunday, the Home Run Derby and the 2009 MLB All-Star Game. Here's what you need to know if you are attending one of these events:

All-Star Sunday (Futures Game and Celebrities & Legends Softball Game) - The gates at Busch Stadium open to the public at 11 a.m. The standard game-day bag inspection policies will be in place. This means fans can bring in bags or backpacks that are 16"x16"x8" or smaller. Bags will be subject to a visual check or screening with an electric wand scan. Fans will not be allowed to leave and re-enter the stadium, including for smoking.

Work-Out Day & Home Run Derby - The gates at Busch Stadium will open to the public at 4 p.m. on Monday. Again, the standard game-day bag inspection policies will be in place and there is no exit and re-entry allowed.

2009 All-Star Game - The gates at Busch Stadium will open at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Security will be extremely tight because President Obama is throwing out the first pitch. Fans will have to go through a metal detector to get into the ballpark. Fans can not bring in bottles (including water bottles) or coolers of any kind. Bags that are 16"x16"x8" or smaller and small personal cameras will be allowed, but will be inspected. There is no exit and re-entry at the stadium. The Cardinals say there will be long lines and fans should give themselves plenty of time to get through the inspection process.

A frined is planning to bring a baby to the game and can not find any information as to how much liquid will be permitted into the game in order to mix the baby formula…any suggestions on where to get the info?
