Check Out the New CooperElla Cafe in Maplewood

Monday June 29, 2009

The last time I ate at CooperElla Cafe in Maplewood, the coffeehouse catered to parents with young children. The cafe is still open, but the sippy cups and play areas have been replaced with local artwork and live music.

CooperElla serves up breakfast and lunch Monday through Saturday. You'll find items like breakfast burritos, quiche, wraps and quesadillas on the menu. The cafe is also open late on Wednesdays and Fridays when it hosts a happy hour with drink speicals and live music.

Next to the cafe is the CooperElla House of Art. The shop sells works from about 75 local artists including everything from photography to handmade jewelry and blown glass to clothing. It's certainly a good place to go to support local artists or find a unique gift for someone special.

CooperElla is located at 7401 Hazel in Maplewood.
