Ideas for Father's Day in St. Louis

Tuesday June 9, 2009

Father's Day is the perfect time to show Dad just how much you love and appreciate him. If you want to give your dad something more than the traditional tie, I have some ideas. Here's information on several St. Louis area attractions that are hosting special events for Father's Day.

Kemp Auto Museum
The Kemp Auto Museum in Chesterfield is the place to take dads who love cars. On Father's Day, all dads (and their kids) get into the museum for free. There will also be a car show featuring rare and vintage cars from local collectors. For more information, call the museum at 636-537-1718.

Mount Pleasant Winery
Mount Pleasant Winery in Augusta, Missouri, is cooking up a bar-b-que for dads on Father's Day. Everyone in the family can enjoy pork steaks, corn on the cob, baked beans and other bar-b-que favorites from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There's also live music and, of course, wine.

Butterfly House
Dad can enjoy time with the kids on Father's Day at the Butterfly House in Faust Park. "Bug Dad on Father's Day" is quite unique. Dad, and the rest of the family, can spend the day learning about cockroaches and other buggy creatures. Dad gets in free with one paid admission.
