Missouri Botanical Garden Celebrates Its 150th Anniversary

The Missouri Botanical Garden is celebrating its 150th birthday by giving visitors a gift. On June 15, 2009, admission to the Garden will be just $1.50 in honor of the anniversary. Admission is free for Garden members and children 12 and younger. Everyone is invited to see all the beauty the Botanical Garden has to offer, plus enjoy some special activities like educational programs for the kids, circus performers and a family movie night. The Garden will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

What a great gift back to the community.
My wife and I own and operate a Greater St. Louis bed and breakfast. Visiting the gardens is on our “top ten” list of things we recommend for our guests to see and do while in St. Louis.
When you go, plan on spending a good part of the day. Take a ride the tram to get an overview of the gardens. Then take time to “stop and smell the roses” (as well as all the other flowers).
Also be sure to take a tour of Henry Shaw’s home.
