New Charity Event Added to 2009 All-Star Week in St. Louis

Wednesday May 13, 2009

St. Louis is hosting the 2009 All-Star Game on July 14, but there's a whole week of All-Star Game events planned for baseball fans. One new way for fans to participate this year is the All-Star Charity 5K and Fun Run on Sunday, July 12. The race begins at Busch Stadium and ends at America's Center. It will raise money for cancer charities including Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and Stand Up to Cancer.

Anyone who registers for the 5K or Fun Run before May 22 will get a discount. The discounted rate for the 5K is $25 for adults and $20 for children. The Fun Run is $15 for adults and $10 for children. The fee includes a souvenir All-Star t-shirt and medal. Registration is available online at mlb.com.
