Share Your Pictures From Mardi Gras in Soulard

By February 23, 2009

Follow me on:

I didn't make it to the Grand Parade at Soulard Mardi Gras this year, but friends tell me it was a lot of fun despite the cold weather. I'm looking for pictures of the parade floats, crazy costumes and other Mardi Gras scenes (no nudity please!). I'll feature the pictures in an upcoming Mardi Gras Photo Gallery and throughout my About.com site.

To share your pictures, please follow the four steps outlined below. Photos submitted that do not adhere to these guidelines can not be published on the About St. Louis site.

  • Email pictures to me at stlouis.guide@about.com, and enter "Mardi Gras Photos" in the e-mail subject line.
  • Send pictures in JPG format. There's no need to compress them for use on the Web, and each photo should be at least 400x400 pixels, with an overall file size that's 2MB in size or less (if sending multiple photos, please keep each email 2MB or less). Send all photos as attachments, not pasted within the email body.
  • Provide your full name, and whether you want it displayed with the photo (or if you prefer I use an alias or nickname). I will not publish or share your email address. Please also provide a short description of the photo, such as when and where it was taken.
  • Cut and Paste the following disclaimer in your e-mail: "I certify that I am the author or sole owner of the material I am submitting to About.com. About.com and its licensees may reproduce, distribute, publish, display, edit, modify, create derivative works and otherwise use the material for any purpose in any form and on any media. I agree to indemnify About.com for all damages and expenses that may be incurred in connection with the material."
For more information about submitting photos to About.com, see About.com's user agreement.

I'm looking forward to seeing your best shots of Mardi Gras! I'll notify you if your picture has been added to the Gallery or used in any way on the site.
