Recommendations Needed on Haunted Houses

Friday September 12, 2008

What's your favorite St. Louis area haunted house? My bet is that most people will say "The Darkness" or one of the other great haunted houses owned by Larry Kirchner. The same company that owns the The Darkness also owns and operates "Creeyworld," which includes the popular SiloX, Ravens Mansion and a few other haunted theme parks.

But here's the challenge: Besides those listed above, what other haunted houses would you recommend? A thorough Google search brings up almost no competitors. But I know there are other fun haunted attractions in the region. That's where I need your help. Where do you go every halloween for a good scare? Post your suggestions in the comments below.

Oh, and I'm really looking for haunted houses of the theme park varitey. I know there are literally dozens of area homes, restaurants (like the Lemp Mansion) and other sites that have a haunted reputation. I'll cover those separately, but right now I'm really interested in places similar to the Darkness or SiloX, even if they're much smaller or less well known.
