Sassafras Cafe is Missouri's First Certified Green Restaurant

Wednesday August 13, 2008

Going green is taking on a whole new meaning at the Missouri Botanical Garden. The Garden's Sassafras Cafe is the first restuarant in Missouri to be "Certified Green" by the Green Restaurant Association. To receive the honor, Sassafras Cafe has to use environmentally friendly building materials, recycle as much as possible and conserve water and electricity. There are currently about 260 restaurants across the country with the green certification.

Sassafras Cafe is open daily for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Snacks and beverages are also served throughout the day.
