Better View of Fireworks Promised for Live on the Levee

Thursday July 10, 2008

I heard from several people who went to Fair St. Louis last weekend that the view for the fireworks wasn't very good. The fireworks were lauched from a barge on the Mississippi River despite the fact that the Fair had moved 12 blocks away to Soldiers Memorial because of flooding. I think organizers also heard those complaints because they just announced they're moving the fireworks location for the remaining Live on the Levee concerts (now called Live Off the Levee) much closer to Soldiers Memorial. For the next four weekends, the fireworks will be launched from the top of the vacant Municipal Courts building at Tucker and Market streets. For more on the fireworks and concerts read my Live on the Levee article.
