Thursday April 17, 2008

Your children can spend a week learning about animals during summer camp at the St. Louis Zoo. The zoo offers day camp for children of all ages. Campers learn about the animal world through games, classroom lessons and contact with live animals. Prices vary and sessions fill up quickly so it's best to reserve your spot early.

Camp Joey is for kids who are at least four years old, but haven't finished kindergarten. This camp is designed for pre-schoolers with games, crafts, stories and songs. Morning or afternoon sessions are available. The cost is $120 for zoo members and $130 for non-members.

Camp KangaZoo is for children in the 1st through 6th grade. Campers get to explore the zoo's animal habitats, learn about conservation and perform animal skits. The cost is $185 for zoo members and $205 for non-members.

Teen Camp is for kids in the 7th through 9th grade. This camp offers more in-depth learning about the zoo's animals and their habitats. Campers also enjoy behind-the-scenes tours of the zoo's exhibits. The cost is $195 for zoo members and $215 for non-members.
